All Iberville Parish children birth through age five are afforded opportunities to achieve their maximum potential to succeed in school and life.
The mission of the Iberville Parish Ready Start Network is to increase community awareness of early childcare and education, provide children, age birth to five, with equitable access to the physical, emotional, and high quality educational supports they need to enter school ready to succeed.
What is a Ready Start Network?
Iberville Parish's Ready Start Network is a coalition of individuals committed to creating and implementing a bold local vision for early childhood. Our Ready Start Network is driven by our community’s need to improve opportunities and inspire change for children birth to age five.
Ready Start brings together partners to continuously improve the quality of and access to early childhood opportunities in our community. Driven by local data and context, we do this in three key ways:
develop intentional plans,
secure and weave together resources, and
implement creative solutions.
We accelerate efforts to help children be ready for school and successful in life.
Iberville Parish's, and the entire State of Louisiana’s future is tied to the success of our children, and today we have the opportunity to transform our future in one generation. Everyone has a shared responsibility to support the economy of today and shape the workforce of tomorrow. Working together we can ensure our community thrives.
The first 2,000 days of a child’s life sets the foundation for language development and social-emotional skills. Quality early childhood education prepares children to be ready to learn on the first day of Kindergarten.
Children who have access to quality early childhood programs are more likely to:
get along with others, take turns, and share;
identify and address any learning and physical delays before they get to Kindergarten; and
be prepared for the basics of reading and then be able to read at grade level, and graduate on time.
